How to inspect and clean Claude text

  1. 1. Paste the text. Add text copied from Claude or another AI, document, webpage, PDF, or editor.
  2. 2. Inspect the evidence. Choose Inspect Text to list hidden or unusual characters without changing anything.
  3. 3. Choose a cleaning mode. Safe Clean prioritizes language integrity. Deep Clean removes more controls and should be reviewed carefully.
  4. 4. Copy the cleaned text. Compare the result, copy it, or continue with the Text Cleaner for ordinary formatting cleanup.

Claude watermark and text cleaning questions

Does Claude add a watermark to generated text?

Anthropic says supported Claude models launched in the EU on or after August 2, 2026 embed an imperceptible model-level watermark in generated text worldwide. Older models are being transitioned separately.

Can this tool guarantee removal of Claude's proprietary watermark?

No. Anthropic has not yet published the technical detection mechanism. This tool cleans inspectable Unicode and formatting artifacts but cannot currently verify or guarantee removal of the proprietary model-level signal.

Can I see invisible characters in Claude text?

Yes. The inspector lists supported zero-width characters, Unicode tags, special whitespace, bidi controls, soft hyphens, variation selectors, and unusual control characters.

Does PC Notepad store the text I paste?

No. Processing happens in browser memory. The tool does not send pasted or cleaned text to an API, database, log, or analytics service.

Will cleaning change Bengali, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, or emoji?

Safe Clean preserves characters such as ZWJ, ZWNJ, bidi controls, and variation selectors because they can affect scripts and emoji. Deep Clean is more aggressive and should be reviewed before use.

What does Safe Clean remove?

It removes common zero-width spaces, word joiners, BOMs, Unicode tags, soft hyphens, and unusual controls; normalizes exotic spaces; standardizes line endings; trims trailing whitespace; and applies NFC normalization.

Why do hidden characters appear in copied text?

Web apps, AI tools, PDFs, word processors, editors, and typography systems may introduce invisible formatting, directional, joining, spacing, or compatibility characters during copying.
